Now in its fourth year, the Be Very Afraid event, organised and run by heppell.net was yet another huge success. Of course, events like this, aren't so much about the teachers and the adults but centred wholly around the creative pupils who produced the work to showcase to an audience of BBC, Government, ICT policy makers and the media.
The event showcased the work of pupils from around a dozen schools, colleges and universities from all over the UK. The work included 3D animation and modeling, Game making, portable technologies and joining up schools.
Stepping Stones School have been collaborating with Little Cayman Education Service in the Cayman Islands, Caribbean and so this was the ideal stage to show what pupils had been doing. Throughout the day, we had maintained a live link with the classroom in Little Cayman and many of the visitors have been sitting down talking to Arrowe, aged 10. In fact, I'm not sure there was ever a time when Arrowe wasn't busy talking to people - and some were people from Australia, Norway, and Zambia.
You can read more about the day from the Little Cayman perspective, here: Building Cayman's Futures and on the Little Cayman blog site too.
The photographs shows how Amie and Dominic from Stepping Stones School prepared and organised their "pod" to show others the interesting work that they are doing.
