Stepping Stones Activity Day - an enormous success

The Stepping Stones Activity Day was a huge success with some 210 children taking part in a variety of activities, including Scuba Diving, Sailing, Horse riding, Arts and Crafts, Trampolining, Games, Football, Tennis and lots more.

Watch the film showing the activities and the children who take part in a wide range of new challenges.

Take a look at some of the photographs of the day.

...and listen to podcasts of children on the day reflecting on the activities they have done. We also captured some thought from parents and helpers.

Larry Sullivan said...

"Another magnificent day. Two hundred children and all trying at least one new activity from scuba diving to sailing via many other activities. Massive thanks to all the helpers/trainers who give their time and expertise selflessly. Thanks also to the tremendous support from Oasis and their ever generous clients. I'm sure the momentum will continue to our 7th Annual event in June 2007."

Jo Franklin, Oasis (main sponsor of this event) commented...

"The Stepping Stones Hemi Activity day, now in it's 6th year is an event that touches an ever increasing number of people, all contributing to making the day success in a way that is both relevant and enjoyable to them.

It is now the 5th year that OASIS has sponsored this popular event and every year the event both exhausts me (in a good way) and humbles me. The courage that the children and their families show in the face of varying degrees of adversity is simply overwhelming to come to realise. The clear enjoyment to be seen on the children's faces as they experience new activities or meet new friends that make them feel less alone, makes our every efforts so worthwhile.

The contribution of our clients, suppliers and associates and the OASIS team help to enhance the day, we play a small but important part, and this year their support was particularly generous for which I extend my wholehearted thanks to all. The biggest well done of course to the Stepping Stones team and each and every helper on the day."
