School Provision and Services

for pupils:

Stepping Stones School offers the pupils a broad and balanced curriculum which encourages the children to develop particular strengths.

Horse Riding

Sailing

Our pupils will once again be visiting the Sailability club at Frensham Ponds where they will be learning to sail boats such as the Access Dinghies which are specially designed for children with physical disabilities.

To learn more about the Sailability sailing club, take a look at this film which Amy (a pupil at Stepping Stones) produced.

ICT

Our pupils have access to state-of-the-art technology from Apple computer. Each of the pupils have been allocated a personal laptop computer (iBook) for which they take full responsibility whilst learning at home and school. Powerful G5 iMac computers allow the pupils to use powerful applications and work together on collaborative projects.

Pupils are taught to use Apple's iLife software, learning how to capture, import, edit and present digital video using iMovie and iDVD.

Some of this work can be found online (coming soon)

Pupils actively use the following applications: ComicLife, iWork (Keynote & Pages), iChat, Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, PrintMusic, Google Earth, Mail (email)
