Stepping Stones pupils meet Sir Isaac Newton at Bohunt School
Sir Isaac Newton, at nearly 400 years old visited Bohunt School in March 2007 to meet pupils and give a presentation of some of his scientific discoveries and explanation of his principles. It was a fantastic opportunity, and our thanks go to Lesley Morris and the staff at Bohunt School for organising this.
After the performance which had us riveted by his demonstrations showing us his laws of motion, centripedal force, colours within light, and Newton's Craddle, the pupils spent time talking with Sir Isaac Newton.
Autumn Poem from around the school environment
Written and performed by Amy, Jessica, Amie, Daniel and Dominic at Stepping Stones School. These students were studying similes in Literacy, and took photographs from around the school site, and used descriptive language to describe what they saw. This video was produced using iMovie.

Egg-tastic - a problem solving activity at the Stepping Stones Cinema Club
Cinema Club go-ers had great fun this evening with egg-tastic...
The youngsters were challenged with the task of dropping one of Jonathan's 'past sell-by-date eggs' from the balcony of the new mezzanine floor. The rules were simple, use whatever means possible to protect the egg from breaking when dropped from a fixed height.
A range of materials around the school was made available for this activity. Here are some photographs from the evening.
Each team gave considerable thought to the design of their egg container since all were successful in preventing the egg from breaking after the 3.5m drop.

Mezzanine floor extension now complete
The new mezzanine floor extension is now complete and is being used regularly. Downstairs, the red door leads into a very well equipped physio room.
Upstairs, the space, although setup for teaching music, can be adapted to meet a range of needs and purposes. A balcony, with its stainless steel rail completes the end of the mezzanine floor beautifully and we can't wait to present Romeo and Juliette!
